HH-14 Haunt in Halmich 3 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: Greetings,

As this event has long since past (over a month), I am archiving it to prevent it from showing up on searches and the map by cachers in the area.

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1ST!

All Saints' Day (also known as All Hallows, Solemnity of All Saints, or The Feast of All Saints) is a solemnity celebrated on 1 November by parts of Western Christianity, and on the first Sunday after Pentecost in Eastern Christianity, in honour of all the saints, known and unknown. All Saints' Day is the second day of Hallowmas, and begins at sunrise on the 1st of November and finishes at sundown on the 1st of November. It is the day before All Souls' Day.

In Western Christian theology, the day commemorates all those who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven. It is a national holiday in many historically Catholic countries. In the Catholic Church and many Anglican churches, the next day specifically commemorates the departed faithful who have not yet been purified and reached heaven. Christians who celebrate All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day do so in the fundamental belief that there is a prayerful spiritual bond between those in purgatory (the 'Church Suffering'), those in heaven (the 'Church triumphant'), and the living (the 'Church militant'). Other Christian traditions define, remember and respond to the saints in different ways; for example, in the Methodist Church, the word "saints" refers to all Christians and therefore, on All Saints' Day, the Church Universal, as well as the deceased members of a local congregation, are honored and remembered.

If you aren't doing anything on November 1, then please join us on celebrating Halloween!

We will be meeting at Halmich Park in Warren, MI at 6:30 pm
Which should be right after dinner.

The schedule of the event is as follows:

6:30 Arrive at Halmich Park and go to the posted coordinates

6:30 - 7:30
Meet and Greet with other cachers who are attending the event. I assume cachers will show up early (they always do) so I would suggest doing the other Halmich Park caches during this time including...

GC1GWEY - a Cyclops cache w/ tons of favorite points
GC4NR8H - a newer wherigo cache w/ a decent ammount of favorite points (including one from myself)
GC4EWBX - one of many HH-13 caches still available... easy projection

Bobo will also load your GPS units with the new caches for the event.

7:30 - 9:00 Search for the new caches hid by Team-Gates & myself! (I suggest leaving for the caches as soon as your GPS is loaded to avoid congestion at each stop. All event attendees will be able to claim FTF on all of the caches).

9:00 Enjoy doughnuts and cold cider back @ Halmich Park & cachers are returned to their vehicles.

Big thanks to Bobo102102 for aiding in the construction of this description! (oh - and nice try Bobby )
