This area of the city is growing rapidly. Neighbourhoods are quickly moving toward what was once the historic Symon's Valley Ranch. During the time this cache was placed, everyone leaving Calgary had to take a detour to get here. It looks like they are building a newer road to accommodate a new subdivision. I remember driving past here when it was way out in the country. In no time at all it will be another Calgary neighbourhood.
There is plenty of parking nearby. That corner tends to be busy with big trucks, so for safety reasons, I recommend parking in the designated parking areas and not on the roadway near the cache.
