Geocache Description:

Off the beaten path, but can be driven to. Cache is on top of the mesa hidden in a huge pile of boulders that are each about as big as a car. Cach has some new kids toys in it.

Cache is named after the US Army test track just west of it. This is Hurricane Mesa where they built and tested ejection seats for jets back in the 40's and 50's. They shot the seat down a rocketsled track with a monkey strapped into it. Then they shot him off over the edge of the mesa! In places it's over 1000' ft down! The army still has a presence here and they are serious about the no trespassing signs. DON'T GO IN THERE!

I swear that the road up here is the one that they used for all of the roadrunner and coyote cartoons. It's asphalted most of the way, but very narrow and cut right into the cliff face! My wife says she'll never go up again.

The cache is in the huge boulders when you get here. While you're here look all around on the flats and in the little natural drainages for petrified wood. This spot is world reknowned for it and some of it is gem quality.
