This cache has been archived.

IgnotusPeverell: Greetings. I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers for geocaches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from colorado-rattll about maintaining this cache which makes it appear they are either unwilling or unable to maintain this geocache. Cache maintenance includes: replacing broken or missing containers, replacing full or wet logs, updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing the needs maintenance attributes, enabling the listing, and more. Check out all of a geocache owner's responsibilities here. This cache is being archived, and removed from the active cache listings.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived."

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Two of my favourite activities are Trail running and Geocaching and I often like to combine the two by picking up a cache while out on a trail run. This Cache is part of a series that I will be creating that combine a Geocache with a favourite running trail in and around Colorado Springs, CO. You don't have to run the trail to get these Caches but bonus points if you traildo.

Spruce Mountain (More of a Butte or Mesa) is located between Palmer Lake and Larkspur. The main trail is about 5 1/2 miles and is a lollipop with the out and back to the top of the butte about 1.6 miles and a 2.3 mile loop that follows the perimeter of the Butte. There are great views from the Southern (where this cache is) and Western sides. It is a fairly gentle climb on the way out and descent on the way back. An alternative to the lollipop is to take the Eagle Pass trail until it meets the service road on the South end. From here turn left for a steep climb to the top where it meets the main trail. Turn right for the longer loop back. This option is also about 5.5 miles but offers a nice loop through the aspens without any out and back.
