The Uffington White Horse Trail takes you through some of my favourite countryside. It takes in part of the Ridgeway between Wayland's Smithy and White Horse Hill as well as along part of the Lambourn Valley Way. There are no stiles or livestock to negotiate and most of the paths are easy to follow. However parts of the route can be very overgrown, particularly in summer. And of course, this being the UK, you can expect mud in the winter and plenty of nettles in the summer. But you will be rewarded with some fantastic views.
The series consists of 31 caches in total over a distance of about 7 miles. There are 28 traditional caches, 1 Letterbox, 1 multi and 1 puzzle. The puzzle and the multi will require you to divert from the main loop but that means you can start the series wherever you like and go in whichever direction round the series takes your fancy.
There is also Uffington White Horse (Oxfordshire) by The Wombles (GC8964) en-route, as well as, The Manger (Earthcache) by wirewoman (GC476K3) on White Horse Hill.
When setting the series I used three different parking places which I have included as waypoints with UWHT #01. You can also use the National Trust car park on White Horse Hill at a cost of £4 (cash only) for the day.
