It is our privilege to be the adoptive owners of this, the first and oldest geocache, on the Isle of Man.
The original wording can be found below but perhaps a few words of clarification are now required.
The cache has not been moved, but the original co-ordinates were for a reference point from which to begin your search. As this point, an "X" marked on a wall, has faded over time, the new co-ords are for the cache itself.
There is parking on the road adjacent to the approach to the cache. As there is some tree cover, please give your GPS device time to settle.
Please note that D/T ratings for old caches such as this were added retrospectively and may not exactly match what would be expected today. Perhaps D1.5/T3 might be more realistic.
Many thanks to "ThePuzzler" for starting the hobby of geocaching on the Isle of Man.
Here is the original description:
Cache placed in a hurry as only had 5 mins before the ferry left. So first finder please relocate to a more suitable location.
Have listed this cache in Ireland and UK as IOM has visitors from both countries.
This is the first cache for Isle of Man.
