Geocache Description:

This is what Harry Ashcroft wrote when he set the cache in August 2014. The Brown Teddies adopted the cache in July 2019, in Harry's memory.

This significant crossroads on the outskirts of Grange over Sands and overlooking the Cartmel Valley provides the big descision point for local travellers. Take time to park nearby and enjoy the views (but watch out for traffic) You will also be near to the best (and highest) access point for a great walk across to Hampsfell.

If you are exploring the Cartmel and Grange over Sands area you will almost inevitably end up here at some point. There are great views over the Cartmel Valley and easy access onto Hampsfell with its myriad of caches. The narrow Wartbarrow Lane leads you to another cache with a footpath shortcut taking you direct to the Wartbarrow Lane cache.

Please do not park on the junction. There are plenty of nearby parking laybyes beside the road into Grange (Grange Fell Road).

Please keep dogs and children under close control.

The cache is a camo'd micro (magnetic) Please provide your own pen and leave as found to prevent water ingress.
