Korean War Memorial - MacArthur Park

My father-in-law and my dad both were part of the 1st Marine Division and both fought in the Korean war. We are so proud of both of them! My dad was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded in the line of duty while fighting in Korea. He never talks about the war or being in the Marines. Most of the information I have about his service has come from my mom.
I was older when I found out that my dad had been awarded the Purple Heart and only when I quizzed my mom was I told what happened. Long story short, his unit was ambushed while out on night patrol and his unit was wiped out and left for dead. He is living proof of the saying that many of our armed forces often repeat, no man left behind!
Along with their own battles, both men had friends that were killed in the 'Chosin Frozen' battle. One of the few stories my dad has ever told was of this battle.
As you can tell, this location has a lot of meaning to us and many others. Please do not cut through the landscaping or get off into the bushes. The hide is simple and can be reached without leaving the paved/cemented area. Please do not make the grab of the smiley if others are in the area. There have been several caches at the park and somehow all end up being archived due to them coming up missing. Be stealthy, be fast and remember those that served!
