This should be a nice quick park and find. There is a nice area to park across the street from the cache. If you do park across the street please be careful crossing the Highway. There is a couple of places to park on the camp side of the Highway, might be a little more safe if you have little ones with you. There is no reason to go onto Camp Silverton property to find this cache.
Congratulations to " FluteFace " for TFTF!!!
Doing some research on Camp Silverton taught me that there is not a lot of information on the camp. Camp Silverton was created in 1948. The camp has mostly over all these been leased by public schools for camp. In 1970 there were 12 A-Frame cabins built. There are only three of those cabins still standing, plus the cookhouse, and generator house. In the summer of 1987 I had High School band camp there, I remember having a great time. I got in touch with the USFS and was told that everything might be getting torn down and the camp being turned into a camp ground. Time will only tell.
