Geocache Description:

This is our first Meet & Greet, just in time for an August souvenir if you still need it. The Meet & Greet will be held at the King Johnson (KJ) Park at the picnic shelter at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 22nd

This is basically just a meet & greet, TB swap, and Geo-item swap game. We will not be providing any food or drinks, nor will we be asking anyone to bring anything for potluck. There are many choices from which to choose (fast food, pizza, mexican, or deli) close by. You can grab something for yourself and bring it, or eat prior to attending.

If you want to bring any travel bugs or tags to the Meet & Greet to swap out, feel free to drop them before you get there. If someone wants to retrieve them…great. If no one wants to retrieve them, you can take them and retrieve them back into your inventory. You can also bring travel bugs and tags to be discovered, if you don’t want to let go of them right now.

I am also borrowing from Paganmen and his idea at the last Blacksburg Meet n’ Greet. If you would like to participate in a Geo-item Swap, bring something geocaching related like an unactivated tb, a prepared geo-container, swag, etc. We will put them all on a table and draw numbers for choosing order.

KJ Park is kid friendly and there is a really nice playground. There are also some local geocaches nearby you can find while here. I may try to add one or two before the Meet & Greet, but no promises.

Giles County Travel and Tourism has also agreed to advertise this Meet & Greet on their website. I’d love to have some people show up who are not familiar with Geocaching, but would like to find out about it.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
