Sandstaden was first called Sandtorp, both names derived from the nearby beautiful sandy beach.
The place was cultivated already 1736, many crofters have passed and had their life on the croft including the
"destitute" Second Lieutenant Magnus Georg Stenfelt.
In the mid-1860s Andreas Danielsson lived at the croft. Andrew was very sought to "open vein",
which at that time was to cure most diseases.
1905 burned the cottage because of carelessness with fire in flax preparation
and was replaced with the cottage from Viken, which at this time was deserted.
