Geocache Description:

Amid much controversy and contrary to builder's original intent, what was to be a small walking trail across the street from a local development ballooned into a jurisdictional nightmare with County, State, and Federal fingers all in the pie.  The result, what started as a $12,000 walking trail as a nod to the city zoning commision ended up being a massive restructuring of an entire hill, encroachment on local land owner's back yards, an a wheelchair accessible switchback path costing in excess of $160,000.  True, the path connects two roads for pedestrians but the irony is neither end is a destination anyone would want to walk to.  In fact, it just may be that the geocache is the only reason to walk this path.

The cache is dedicated to my friend Carol whose backyard is against the boundary line of the trail. Please note, while there is a drive-able cinder road to a turn around where you might be tempted to park, this project is such a raw nerve that neighbors have been known to call the police if you do park there (even though there are no signs prohibiting it). It is not my intent to inflame the passions of the neighbors so I suggest you look for parking in a safe location nearby and add a little to your walk on the way to finding the cache.

Note 2/13/2024 - This cache has been notorius for taking on water.  The log is in a water-resistant container placed inside a larger water resistant container and both inside the original outer container.  You may have to thump the middle container to dislodge the log container. I couple ou good whacks should do it. If still a problem, photos of the inner container will be accepted.
