Geocache Description:


The cache is small to regular size. The cache is placed near the main entrance to Sde-Dov, on Levi Eshkol road. Sde-Dov airport is located in Tel-Aviv, and mainly handles scheduled domestic southbound flights to Eilat and Ovda, as well as northbound flights to Haifa, the Galilee and the Golan Heights. It is named after Dov Hoz, one of the pioneers of Jewish aviation. In 1937 the mayor of Tel-Aviv, Israel Rokach, asked the British mandate authorities for permission to create an airport in Tel-Aviv, and works began on 1938. In the 1948 Arab-Israel war, the airport served as a base for the Israeli air force. The military continues using it regularly till today.
