The Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is open from 9:00am until 5:00pm every day of the year with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. There is no admission or parking fee for those wanting to walk the trails in order to find this geocache. If you want a tour of the home itself -- which is pretty cool -- there is a nominal fee.
If you spend any time at the national historic site you will learn about Carl Sandburg's wife's goats. And it is pretty apparent that Carl got a kick out of the goats. There are a total of four stops where information needs to be obtained. The actual location of the cache is NOT on national historic site property, but a short drive away.
