Kau Sai Chau (滘西洲) is an island located off the coast of Sai Kung of Hong Kong, with an area of 6.70 km², making it the 6th largest island of Hong Kong. It is under the administration of Sai Kung District. Kau Sai Chau is connected in the north by a breakwater to the smaller island Yim Tin Tsai (鹽田仔).
Occupies approximately the northern half of the island, The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course is the only public golf course in Hong Kong that require no membership. Opened in 1995, It comprises three 18-hole golf courses in the premises. The land is on loan from Government without charges, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club donated HK$500 Million to build all facilities.
How to get there
Suggest to start the hike from Yim Tin Tsai and access the GZ via the breakwater. Regular ferry service to Yim Tin Tsai is available at Sai Kung Pier between 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday. Private boat hire is also available anytime at Sai Kung.
