The Wraysholme footpath was created during the second world war to provide a well used direct link/shortcut from the old brewery and other facilities at Allithwaite and the newly constructed airfield at Flookburgh Marsh (RAF Cark). Consequently the grassy surface is well drained and the steel kissing gates substantial.
This area of quiet lanes and footpaths provides a lovely flat area for dog walkers - somthing of a rarity in South Lakeland. There are even a couple of pubs nearby if you get thirsty (or hungry).
If doing this cache as a drive by please park with care and do not block the road. There are some deep and well hidden drainage ditches beside the lane.
Bring your own pen/pencil and possibly a pair of tweezers. Please replace as found.
