Alfreton Divers: Finally time to close this one down and make space for possible future events.

Many, many thanks to the 111 people who attended (78 caching accounts), I had no idea the event was going to be this busy.

Thanks to those who came from near and far for the daytime walk, and for those who attended the evening event, even if it was briefly in some cases after attending other events that day.

Congratulations to all those who were successful in the raffle, the proceeds of which was sent to the 2016 Wales UK Mega.

I never expected how exhausting running the event would have been from start to finish, but it was worth every minute, thanks for the great feedback and glad everybody had a great time that day.

We'll be at The Hawthorns from approx 5pm to celebrate the Leap Day of 29th February, marking off a 'Found On' date only available once every four years!
There might even be some new caches published on this day, allowing the FTF hounds the chance to mark that day off too!
Food available all day though no purchase necessary. The manager has offered to honour the Golden Greats menu (2 courses £4.95 / 3 courses £5.95) during the evening event too. Menus included in the photos for you to browse, please give an idea of how many will be attending/eating in your 'Will Attend' so we may keep the staff informed of numbers. If possible, please state what meals you may wish to have so that these may be pre-ordered with the kitchen staff. If there are any special dietary requirements please contact us so that we may discuss these with the staff. Many thanks.

Hopefully there will be quite a few cachers attending who will be completing various grids on this day - such as 'Date Placed' and 'Date Found'. If you're able to attend please feel free to state which grid(s) you hope to fill on this day.

Daytime Walk
We've plans to walk our circular 5.5 mile / 9km local series during the day - join us at 0930 to walk the Alfreton Divers series, taking in over 30 caches which will help you qualify for the GC5MD52 Fabulous February - Challenge Cache. Parking is available all day in the rear car park of the pub with complimentary tea and coffee provided by the pub before the walk, with a view to start walking at 1000am. You'll get to mark off quite a few letters of Cache Name Challenge, several different cache types and several different container sizes. Feel free to tag along at any point along the route, we'll be live-logging as we walk so you'll know whereabouts we are and can join us. There are numerous parking coords given along the route. Some of the footpaths along the route can be very muddy so remember to bring walking boots and a change of footwear for the event later. If there's time after the walk before the event starts then there's also numerous driveby caches in the local area to make sure you hit your target.
