Geocache Description:

Inspired by a geocache close by this is our first hide. We encourage you to take the Mundlimup Trail to GZ to take in the beauty and history of this area.

Mundlimup Trail is a well defined trail that winds through Jarrah forest and beautiful stands of Sheoak, Banksia and grass trees.

Listen for sounds of Red Tailed Black Cockatoos and keep an eye out for small wrens and robins

Along the way discover the history of this old timber harvesting site. Features to watch out for include old rail formations, a reconstructed saw pit and ring barked King Jarrah trees.

Park at Mundlimup Trail car park off Balmoral Road.

Follow the Mundlimup Trail through the picnic area, over the Gooralong Brook bridge and along the forest walk. The cache is reachable within an easy 10 minute walk.

There is a scratchie in the cache for first to find!

Continue on after your find to view the ring barked king jarrah tree and reconstructed saw pit. There are also 2 trail loops that continue on after the saw pit that take approximately 45 minutes and 75 minutes to complete
