This walkway is very popular in summer but is a pleasant walk at any time of the year. Developed by the local landowners, Rotorua District and Regional councils in conjunction with the Lake Okareka land care group. Plantings were established from 2001 with assistance from local school groups. The walkway continues to be maintained and new planting continues by the Lake Okareka landcare group.
