You are looking for a lock n lock container, mostly black to hide in the shadows. This is church property and we are asked to please be respectful of that, NO night or Sunday caching here please. Also it is suggested not to park on the street, there is a parkinglot for the church with space to park not far from the cache.
The container has a pen, and log book inside.
CONGRATS to acmancuso for the FTF!!
Mathew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
This church's history dates back to 1888, when the church was built. But even before this church was built Methodists in Apple Creek built its first church building in the summer of 1817, made of logs. This building was later donated to the Presbyterian church. In 1844 Edinburg Church had 20 members and bought a house to remodel and serve as their church. In 1864 this old house became obsolete and activity had moved uptown to the railroad. In 1869 Edinburg was included into the Village of Apple Creek, and in 1926 The Presbyterian and Methodist church became one United Church. Services were held on a regular basis with a full time minister. 1962-68 Renevations started on the current building you will see before you, flat ceilings, a new roof, new foundation, new steeple and setting up the basement for classrooms, an Office was included. The church was Incorporated in 1964. 1970-75 the United Church became United Methodist Church of Apple Creek, new pews and new carpet as well signified a new era had begun. 1993-97 an elevator, handicap facilities and a two story addition were added.
This in only a small part of the church's history, to give the full accord would take many pages here.
