Local Information

Newgale is a village with a three mile stretch of beach in the parish of Roch, Pembrokeshire, West Wales. The beach is situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and has rugged coastal scenery with the path winding up and down the cliffs.

Newgale is one of over 40 Welsh 'Blue Flag' beaches, which means it has the top certification for quality, cleanliness and facilities.

View from main access road to St Davids

The beach is backed by a large pebble wall or storm beach as defence against the high tides. Newgale is popular with holiday makers, windsurfers, surfers and canoeists throughout the summer months.

There are two caravan parks, a camping site, some shops and a pub. The surf at Newgale is good for beginners, with the waves usually backing off a bit even on large swell. Surfing is best on the rising tide.

Surfing

In the winter of 2013 Newgale suffered severe storm damage due to the stormy seas causing the pebble wall to spill oto the wall. This has since been repaired, however Newgale has now been designated an area of natural retreat or managed abandoment over the next 50 years so the area will not be maintained for in the near future.

Digger Clear up

If your planning to stay on the beach during the day check out the tide times to see when is best to surf.

The cache itself is a micro container placed in a position where EXTREME stealth is required especially at high season. It contains just a log book so please bring your own pen.
