Surfing Druid (RM13) Traditional Cache

A simple drive by in the village of Dolgarrog at the site of the old Aluminium Works.

I have placed this cache in Dolgarrog a small village in the Conwy Valley, just outside the site of the old Aluminium Works which has been redeveloped into an inland surfing lagoon. The Aluminium Works has been famous in the past for producing many aluminium products including the wings for the Airbus aircraft. Part of the village was destroyed on the 2 November 1925 when two dams in the hills above failed and swept away some of the houses killing 16 people. The full story is on picture boards a little futher up the road. A road bridge nearby crosses over two huge pipes that carry water from the dams higher up and flow into a Hydro Electric Generating Plant that can be seen from GZ. There is plenty of on street parking at GZ but the co-ords may be out by as much as 10m as for some reason the GPS bounces around a bit here, will update if they become more stable. You will need your own pen and tweezers. Please be careful when retrieving or replacing cache as to drop it will mean you having to be dangled on a piece of string to get it back !! Enjoy
