Normandie 3 is the islands latest project to lay a third interconnector to France allowing the islands to have a more stable power supply. It has been mentioned that it was like threading a needle, a very large thread 32km long and weighing 2500 tonnes! It was bought to Jersey by the ship Cable Enterprise
The final stage happened on Monday 30th June 2014 as the cable was buried in the sand
I planted this cache after seeing how amazing the operation was to get the cable to us and then watching them do the final stage in the early summer. You can hardly see any sign that the cable runs under the path and wouldn't even know the amount of power streaming near your feet. I also thought it was appropriate as it left France on my birthday in April and departed from Pirou in France which was what my budgie used to be called. :)
