In the brief 5 months that I've been caching, I've met several very nice geocaching people in the area. I've learned a lot about the game, about my locality, and about myself. I thank everyone for their great caches and their friendliness and support. At the prompting of a couple of you, I have decided to be the virutal host of a meeting. I have a feeling that other people will be desiring an event to complete their 7 Souvenirs of August Challenge.
One of my favorite parts of the geocaching game is the finding, letting go, and discovery of Travel Bugs, Geocoins, or other Trackables. I thought it would be fun to push a couple of tables together at Bodos, gather round, and look at some of these cool game pieces and share tracking numbers. If there are items you want to trade or give away please bring those. Maybe some of our discussion can turn to the problem of the high incidence of TB theft and whether proxies are a suitable solution.
WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, some money to buy yourself a bagel or drink, your collection of TBs and coins, paper/pen/camera with which to record your new discoveries, and whatever caching paraphernalia you'd like to share. This is going to be a simple fellowship event, lasting no more than two hours, and I hope it will be fun and informative. Hope to see you on the 24th!
