I have found a number of Mattydred’s caches and I’ve always learned some interesting historical facts by reading the cache pages and finding the actual caches. What I recently noticed is Mattydred has passed the 1000 cache find mark and I think this milestone deserves a cache. Trying to keep to the historical theme, this cache is located just outside an old cemetery that probably most people have never visited. I thought this would be the perfect spot for this cache.
The shortest way in to the cache does involve a fairly easy 0.75 mile walk from a gate (at N 43° 20.580 W 071° 07.302) on a class 6 road that you may want to have a high clearance SUV or pickup to drive to, although it isn’t too bad if it hasn’t been raining. Another longer and more scenic way in is to park at N 43° 19.678 W 071° 07.333 and walk over Little Blue Job Mountain and down to the cemetery. This way is rougher and rocky, has more elevation change, but the views are great. The distance is about 1.25 miles one way.
The cache is a camo-ed Lock-n-Lock type container located just outside the cemetery and 2 feet from the gate hinge. DO NOT move any rocks in the wall but look at the base of the wall where there is some bark and a short limb covering the cache container. Please rehide well.
So congratulations to Mattydred for reaching this milestone and for his caches which I enjoy.
.....and congratulations to Mattydred for the First To Find!
