We officially signed it CacheKidz! the following year we returned and attended our first Big Bear Cache Bash.
About 45 minutes after getting home later that day, Tina yells to me from the other room, OK! We're signed up! I responded by asking, to what?
GEOCACHING! Oh, OK I said.
Tina and my daughter are almost sorry they did that.
After the 1st 3 geocaches we found on our way to Tina's parents in Thousand Oaks we were hooked.
Wherever we went shopping or out anywhere, we checked for geocaches in the area. There were a couple nights that we didn't get home until 3:00am!
But the thing that has really kept us going, is not only has it taken us to places we would have never gone before, but we have made some awesome friends and met some incredible people.
We returned to Big Bear in 2011 and 2012 for the Big Bear Cache Bash,
and of course stayed the weekend.
It gave us another reason to make it an annual trip.
Since Badgerdawg & Mandy's Mom decided to take the summer off, the family was disappointed there wasn't going to be an event in Big Bear and we probably would not be going.
For 2013, I decided what better incentive to return to Big Bear than to make a committment of having an event!
Nothing elaborate. Just a chance to meet old and new geocachers. Share stories and discover or exchange Travel Bugs.
So for 2014, I decided to place a cache. Just something quick, simple and easy to find.
This year we tried several new things, and this place was one of them. The cache is located in the parking lot.
