Yarlside is a big lump of a hill covering 35 acres projected to sea level but actually a much bigger area because of its steep slopes. The higher of its two tops is 2096 feet above sea level, with the drop to the highest col being 682 feet, so it counts as a Marilyn, a Hewitt and a Nuttall. My original Yarlside cache was considered inaccessible by some, so this is an easier option on an established (but little-used) path at a height of only 1484 feet. From the parking used to visit Cautley Spout (near Cross Keys), the nearest route to the cache follows the path to the Yarlside-Kensgriff col. From the cache site, there is a good view across Wandale to Mountain View, an abandoned farmhouse that was used in the 1998 film "B Monkey".
Cachers will probably prefer the more interesting clockwise route up Cautley Spout, possibly collecting the harder Yarlside cache and this one on the way back to the parking.
