Whenever a major Geocaching event is announced in San Diego County there's always one question asked, "Will there be PUD cake?" Pineapple upside down cake and San Diego County Geocaching go together like a horse and carriage.
Of course there can be no PUD cake without a generous and devoted PUD cake baker. In all there have been five PUD cake bakers of San Diego County Geocaching fame. First was Carol of PQcachers that sent a PUD cake to the Paperless Caching Event of 2005. Second was Jodi of Jahoadi and John that brought a PUD cake to the cookout event that celebrated the end of the MTRP Cache War of 2006. Third and fourth was Denise of BlondHiLites and Michelle of luv2bake collaborating on a cutting-edge PUD cake that had a surprising yet wholesome macaroni and cheese filling that was served at an early M*A*S*H event. (Blondes have more fun?) Finally we especially note that the PUD cake tradition has been carried on to this day by Barrie of boysnbarrie who once served PUD cake at the summit of Otay Mountain and has served PUD cake at each and every one of the annual M*A*S*H events; you know, more or less.
What one should learn from this geocache is to watch the log entries for San Diego County Geocaching events as the one sure way to experience a San Diego County Geocaching PUD cake.
