Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT IN THE GARDEN

The Myers Mansion was built in approximately 1911 as the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Clinton N. Myers of Hanover Shoe Company. Shortly after it was built, the Myers' added the solarium with its marble floors and enclosed the porches at the rear of the house. The bowling alley in the basement is still intact as are the intricately squared designed oak floors throughout the mansion.

There was also a twin mansion built around the same time on Frederick St. by Harper D. Sheppard, Mr. Myers' business partner.

The mansion remained in the Myers family until 1997 when Mr. J. William Warehime purchased it from Molly Powl Myers, a niece, who lived in Montana. Mr. Warehime added the beveled and stained glass to the porches. He also added the fountain, gazebo and lions to the grounds.

Mr. Warehime has generously donated the Warehime-Myers Mansion, its contents and the grounds to the local historical society.

The geocache hidden at the posted coordinates is a regular geocache. It was formerly part of the Hanover Geo Trail which was discontinued after all coins were claimed. It will remain an active cache.
