Geocache Description:

An easy, small traditional cache located on the footpath between Sorrento and Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi.  You are looking for a Geocaching.com labelled plastic container complete with log sheet and pencil.  The container is large enough to take small trackables and geocoins, but please re-hide carefully.

Standing approximately 390m above sea level, Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is located between the gulfs of Naples and Salerno with fantastic views in all directions.  It is also the home of the Monastero del Deserto, founded in 1679 by the Carmelite fathers and located on the site of 'Vadabillo's necropolis', an ancient Greek necropolis from the 6th century BC.  Currently inhabited by approximately twenty cloistered nuns, the monastery and its panoramic views are not always open to the public, so please check opening times before you go if you are intending to visit the monastery.

The footpaths around Sorrento are generally well marked and this cache is located on the alternative, 'dotted Green Route' as shown on the GioVis map below.  Additional walking maps of the area are also available at www.giovis.com courtesy of Giovanni Visetti.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, the journey or location, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or "copy and paste" logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
