in our disclaimer.
Please come in 1940's clothing if you can and get into the "swing" of the weekend.
The Blitz (shortened from German 'Blitzkrieg', "lightning war") was the period of sustained strategic bombing of the United Kingdom by Nazi Germany during the Second World War.
Between 7th September 1940 and 21sty May 1941 there were major aerial raids (attacks in which more than 100 tonnes of high explosives were dropped) on 16 British cities. Over a period of 267 days (almost 37 weeks), London was attacked 71 times, Birmingham, Liverpool and Plymouth eight times, Bristol six, Glasgow five, Southampton four, Portsmouth and Hull three, and there was also at least one large raid on another eight cities.
The rules simple and are as follows:
1) Get there early and act inconspicuously like a muggle before the event starts. Please try to avoid congregating in big groups, just hang around at a distance, but somewhere that you can see GZ from. There’s plenty of places to hide!!
2) At the stroke of 11.30AM an aircrew whistle will be blown and we will approach the GZ dressed in 1940's clothing, waving Union Jacks this is the cue for the flash mob to begin!!
3) Please bring a ration card with your geocaching name on and place it in our War Time Wicker basket, (you won't miss it!) this will be the log book and proof of your attendence, as there will not be time to sign a traditional log. (You can also bring trackables to drop in the basket to swap)
4) A picture will be taken and then at 11:45 we will leave without a trace, leaving the 1940's muggles wondering what on earth just happened!!/
