Geocache Description:

The Allegheny Rangers love a good Road Trip!  As we were moving down the highway, we started discussing our favorite Road Trip songs.  Once we started a list, we came up with our favorites quickly.  So what better way to celebrate good music than to place a series of caches?  Here are our 63 favorites as selected by the crew.   Complete the series and we will even send you a token to remember your trip!  No order or ranking to the songs...just enjoy the ride :)

I Got a Name is a single recorded by Jim Croce and written by Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox. It was released in 1973 and was the first single from his album of the same title. This was the theme song for the movie The Last American Hero starring Jeff Bridges as a stock car racer. The movie is based on the true story of the stock car driver Junior Johnson. It is one of the few songs recorded by Croce that he didn’t write. This was the last song Croce played before his death. He performed it as an encore at show in Natchitoches, Louisiana at Northwestern College. The crowd was small, as many folks stayed home to watch the Billie Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match that night. Croce's plane, taking off in the dark after the concert, clipped a tree and crashed, killing all six people on board.

Certain Rangers could listen to Croce all day.  But this one just makes you feel free and not care who sees you doing it. smiley

Caches are along the back roads in and around Clarion County.   There should be ample space to pull off the road, but be careful to consider traffic...even on these quiet stretches.

Congratulations to Bussard444 and Greensong on the FTF :)
