Geocache Description:

Now in its fifth year, Tri-State Trick-or-Treat is moving on up - way up!

Join the Tri-State Geocachers for the fifth edition of Tri-State Trick-or-Treat, as for the first time it's being held at beautiful High Point State Park! We'll be holding the event on Saturday, October 25 at 10 am until about 12 noon.. High Point boasts some incredible scenery, much of which even the typical tourist probably has never seen. Its many miles of varied hiking trails bring you to fantastic views of lovely lakes, magnificent meadows, and memorable mountain vistas. And of course there are many existing geocaches too! And again this year it brings you the Halloween event that brings out the kid in all of us.

PRIZES AWARDED FOR:
Best Representation of Geocaching Name
Best Group
Best of the Rest
Best Kids

We'll gather at the posted coordinates, rain or shine, with the festivities beginning at 10am sharp - please plan on arriving early. It's strongly recommended (not required, but it's certainly in the spirit of the day) that you come in costume, with prizes being awarded for various categories. Bring your own bag for trick or treating. We'll do photo shoots and a group photo and then start the day's activity. You'll receive coordinates for a set of temporary caches, all with very pleasant terrain and fantastic scenery. Then at the end of the designated time for trick-or-treating, we'll re-gather and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Caching with dogs? They're welcome to trick-or-treat right along with you, so long as they're kept on a leash.

Are you new to geocaching or geo-events? This is an excellent time to come and join the fun - there are many folks ready to help you along even if you don't have your own GPS unit. Do you have a friend who is thinking of trying out geocaching? This is an excellent time to invite them, as there will be plenty of opportunity to interact with other cachers and experience geocaching first-hand in a beautiful location while finding caches around a great park.

There is no fee to get involved with Tri-State Trick-or-Treat. Just bring yourself, your most fun, adventurous attitude, and get ready for Halloween done geo-style. Please help us in planning by posting your Will-Attend log as far in advance as possible and telling us the number in your party.
