EAST PUTNEY BROOK Guardrail Cache Parking Area Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MainePublisher: All geocache placements must have a responsive owner. The cache owner must be able to respond to issues that come up and to submit an "owner maintenance" log to remove the "needs maintenance" icon.

In addition to the "needs maintenance" logs and DNF logs, Goundspeak also uses a Health Score algorithm. https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713

In this case, Groundspeak has sent an email to the cache owner with no response. The cache owner did not respond to any of the cachers hoping to find the cache and did not respond to the reviewer note so the cache is now archived.

The cache location is now open for any Geocacher to place a new cache, including the original cache owner.

Geocache Description:

EAST PUTNEY BROOK (EPB) / East End Parking:  This Guardrail Cache is designed to mark the parking location for the EPB series when going from East to West.  A similiar Parking Cache is located at the West End for cachers coming West to East.

EAST PUTNEY BROOK (EPB) road from this point to the Westminster End is a non-maintained Class 4 roadway.  The roadside property between here and Cache EPB1 GC5B12G was formerly the Brookside Campground. The privately owned campground is now closed.  The roadway is a class 4 non-maintained town road, good for hiking, dogwalking, snowshoeing, Mtn. Biking, and though ATV and Snowmobile use are lawful are discouraged by the neighbors.  Roadside parking between this Cache site and the Non-Maintained sign erected by the selectboard is preferred as the roadside property between here and the bridge which is adjacent to EPB1 is private land.  Caches along this series are approximately .2(+) mile apart.  This series also accesses several caches in the WESTMINSTER TOWN FORREST (WTF), GC5B13H and GC5B13P with more to come in the future.
