This cache will require climbing. This is not a difficult climb, but you should remember that while coming down is ALWAYS easy, doing it under control and without injury can be more challenging. Do not over stretch your abilities and bear in mind that just because a cache is there does not mean you have to find it. Be warned, there is quite a lot of moss on the tree and it can be very slippery when wet; a fall from the cache WILL hurt and it is likely to take quite some time to get help to you if you need it.
Bloom woods is mostly beech, ash and birch with a few other trees thrown in for good measure, including the tree at GZ, which is an oak. The first time I saw this tree I just had to climb it. Having enjoyed that, I thought I should share it with others and anyway there are no tree climb caches around here that I am aware of, so a little variety won't hurt.
Technically this cache is in Warren Woods, but, since I have never worked out where the boundary between Warren Woods and Bloom Woods is, I have named it to be consistent with the other caches I have in the area. I have recommended the same parking spot as for Blooming Tree Cover and Blooming Rabbits II, however there are several other places that you could approach from, as a quick glance at a map will reveal.
These woods are home to a variety of wildlife; deer (roe, fallow and muntjack) are common and if you are lucky you may see foxes and badgers. I can pretty much guarantee that you will hear and see Red Kites and it is not unusual to spot a barn owl nestling against a tree trunk, if you keep your eyes open.
The woods are used to raise game birds for shooting so please respect that and keep dogs under control (not easy when there are so many interesting smells to investigate, as my dog keeps reminding me).
The cache is fairly small with room for a few small items. When placed it had a pencil, however any wise cacher will bring a pen anyway (and don't forget to take it up the tree with you).
