The cache is in the grounds of the Newton Hotel (thanks to them for permission to place it), a 4 star hotel in which Charlie Chaplin and his family were frequent guests. It's also next to a field with a couple of resident Heilan' coos, and next to the Achareidh path which joins the A96 with Altonburn Road and the path down to the sea across the golf course.
Walking: From the south-east (the town side) follow either the hotel drive (off Newton Gate) or the Achareidh path slightly to the west of it from the A96. From the north-west there is an access path from the golf course car park beside the sea and then across the golf course (please be responsible: dogs on lead) that leads up to Altonburn Road opposite the woods.
From the cache it is a 15 min walk into town or 30-40 mins across the golf course and along the sea front to the central links area.
Parking: in hotel car park, accessed from the A96 or the Altonburn Road
