Lauren Jackson is a famous Australian who is a professional basketball player. Lauren was born in Albury, on 11th May, 1981. Her parents are Gary and Maree Jackson and she has a brother, Ross. She inherited her height and basketball talent from her parents who were Australian representatives. Gary played for the Boomers in 1975 and Maree had a distinguished career with the Opals from 1974 to 1982. With both parents playing in competitions, Lauren was destined to be an outstanding player. Lauren was educated at Thurgoona Public School and Murray High School and completed her Higher School Certificate in Canberra while attending the Australian Institute of Sport. When overseas fulfilling contract assignments she has continued to study. She studied for a psychology degree at Lomonosov Moscow State University and continued via correspondence when she transferred to Seattle, USA. In 2007 he was doing a university course in business management. In 2010 she was doing a course at Macquarie University (Sydney) which included subject such as cultural studies, women's rights and racism. After a number of debilitating injuries, Lauren has returned to study. In the twilight of her career she is considering her options, but would like to be involved in basketball administration, international diplomacy, an advocate for women's rights, defending abused women in international situations. Mention Lauren Jackson and everyone knows she is the most famous female basketball player in Australia and the world. Lauren has numerous achievements including 3 Olympic sliver medals (2000, 2004, 2008), Olympic Bronze (2012), 1 World Championship Gold (2006) and Bronze (1998, 2002) and Commonwealth Gold (2006). Other accolades include most valuable player in the Australian International Player in 1999, 2000, 2002. A highlight of her life was being inducted into the Australian Institute of Sport "Best of the Best" in 2005. Who would forget the sight of Lauren carrying the Australian flag at the summer Olympic Games in London 2012. The Albury community have acknowledged Lauren's achievements and have named the sports stadium in her honour. There is a display of her memorabilia in the foyer. She is truly a great and famous Australian who has achieved so much through dedication and hard work, and has influenced so many people around the world. This cache is on a busy road with businesses closeby so stealth is required.
