Welcome to Historic Mackinaw City
Mackinaw City is much more than fudge shops, the bridge, and other tourist trap things. Once upon a time this place was predicted to be the next Chicago, a bustling metropolis! Things didn't quite turn out that way. This wherigo will take you around some spots that have been highlighted as having historical significance and tell you a little bit about them.
There is a bit of travel involved, but it can all be done easily by bicycle or moving your vehicle just a few times along with short walks.
This cache is a wherigo. All you need to play it is a smart phone or a wherigo compatible GPSr. The Garmin Colorado and Oregon series are compatible. For the smart phones you can download one of the players here:
