Geocache Description:

According to the Big Thicket Guidebook, the old cemetery was in this general area. Tethered behind a tree. You should see the tether once you reach GZ

The Hanging Tree Cemetery was a black cemetery at Hardin. When the Big Thicket Guidebook was written there was little evidence left of its existence. Perhaps if this little bit of thicket were explored something could yet be discovered.

You can walk park just down the road at the ballpark and hike the 4 wheeler trail on the side of the road. Please don't park on the side of this very narrow road. Again you are traveling on some of the oldest roads in Hardin County.
