Not handicap accessible, route may be very muddy during rain. A walking stick is suggested. Please do not walk on the railroad tracks, there is enough space to walk down on the shoreline. It would be easy to canoe or kayak here.
Regarding proximity to a railroad: The railroad tracks are essentially abandoned, attempts to contact the local Norfolk Southern office concerning the lack of warning/railroad boundary signs were unanswered, and there is already quite the group of local fishermen who regularly drive up the tracks to get to good fishing locations. Please don't be like these fishermen, stay on the riverbank and respect the fact that it's still a train track. :)
