Cold Ash is blessed with two very good primary schools, St. Mark’s C.E. Primary School and St. Finian’s R.C. Primary School.
Both schools feed into two local secondary schools (Trinity School Newbury and Kennet School Thatcham) which both have high achievements. †
In honour of these excellent educational establishments, this puzzle explores some of our favourite subjects wot we lernt at skool.
Today’s lessons combines English, Mathematics, Art, Literature, P.E. and Geography. The school bell has rung and lessons have begun.
When you have the equipment you may begin working.
On a separate sheet, you will have now written out five sentences, hopefully correct.
For each sentence, examine each word within. For a word that you copied (i.e. that is already correct) you should mark the matching position in the grid. For each word that you have to change, skip a position in the grid.
When you have completed the grid you will need to cut it up with your scissors. Children should ask a grown up to help them. Old people should ask a child to help them.
Cut the grid into six rectangles of 5 rows high by 3 columns wide. If you have done this correctly, each rectangle will now contain a digit.
Place each of the cut-outs from left to right in each of the boxes filling in the N boxes first, and then the W boxes next.
Program your GPS receiver with the coordinates and go off to seek the cache container.
You may want to mark your own work with Geocheck.
In your own time, write a short piece about your experience and submit it to the Geocaching log for this cache. This should be a minimum of twenty words and correct spellings and abbreviations should be adopted. Any homework which does not meet these standards will have to be done again. A* pupils should consider writing a more descriptive piece of prose.
