Geocache Description:

The Downtown Halifax Link connects offices, hotels, entertainment, and shopping through an above ground and underground pedway system. It’s great for those cold or rainy days when you want a quick, warm and dry way to get around.

This multi will require you to make six stops in and the Downtown Halifax Link. Find the clues to find the six missing digits of the final coordinates.

N44 38.ABC W063 34.DEF

The missing numbers are not in any particular order. You may have to do a bit of walking around for this one. It’s a perfect cache for a cold, rainy or snowy day. There are many entrances to access the pedway system. The most common is through Scotia Square Mall. The container is magnetic and only contains a log. Bring your own writing stick.

A = Stand in the middle of the pedway overlooking Duke Street. Look down the hill. How many letters in the name of the one-way street?

B = Stand at the end of the pedway overlooking Lower Water Street, close to the Purdy’s Landing sign that hangs above the entrance. Look for the civic address of the tall blue building in the distance. What is the second digit of the address?

C = Stand in the middle of the pedway overlooking Barrington Street. Face the bridge. How many bus shelters are there at the terminal below on your right? [NOTE: This location has changed. C = 2]

D = Stand at the crossroad of the pedway that leads to the Casino. When standing at this crossroad there will be a parking garage in front of you, a little park to your left, and the harbour to your right. You may need to exit the pedway to find this hint (or look for a different indoor vantage point). How many round windows are on the side of the parking garage? These windows run from the top to the bottom of the building.

E = Locate the car rental company at the far end of the mall. Which letter in the name, when reversed, looks like a number? What number does it represent? (It appears as many times as the number it represents)

F = Ernest and Delia Edwards brought the first KFC franchise to Nova Scotia. Locate their photo on the Junior Achievement Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame, while taking the Link between Scotia Square Mall and the World Trade and Convention Centre. What is the last digit in the year they were inducted into the Hall of Fame? [NOTE: This location no longer exists. F = 5]

Congrats to Hirtle on FTF
