Geocache Description:

Monyquil Standing Stone and Cairn

This cache is a 120 ml screw top container with logbook and pen.

The Monyquil (Moinechoill)  Standing Stone and Cairn are in the Shiskine Valley. It is a very tranquil setting surrounded by the hills. The track down to access this stone maybe part of the old road before it was redirected as shown on the Heritage Path link. The original track was on the opposite side from the road we use today. The old road passed very close to the Standing Stone and Cairn. I followed the track over the bridge and through the gate (don’t stop to close to the gate as it opens towards you.) then parked on the grass beside the track. There is a bridge over the burn beside the house.
