The Allegheny Rangers love a good Road Trip! As we were moving down the highway, we started discussing our favorite Road Trip songs. Once we started a list, we came up with our favorites quickly. Highway Song is a single by the American Southern Rock band Blackfoot. It was the final track on the album Strikes, which was released in April 1979. The song "Train, Train”, became the band’s first success and best known song. "Highway Song" proved to be another success for them later that year, reaching #26 on the Billboard charts. The group toured frequently during 1979, late during the year they opened for the band The Who at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.
This song was requested by a Ranger as an ode to a deceased friend. In tribute!
Caches are along the back roads in and around Clarion County. There should be ample space to pull off the road, but be careful to consider traffic...even on these quiet stretches.
