The Inheritance Cycle is about a boy named Eragon who finds a mysterious stone in the woods. After taking it home, it hatches into a baby dragon. He is then chased out of his hometown, which he has never seen outside of, by the Empire, ruled by a vicious and merciless king named Galbatorix. Eragon must learn the ways of a Dragon Rider from someone most unexpected.
Shruikan is the largest of the dragons in the series. He is the dragon of King Galbatorix, a large black dragon, and the only one not featured on the cover of one of the books.
