Geocache Description:

This cache is not at posted coordinates!

A cache off the trail from Black Shoals Lake. Enjoy the lake and the trails.

You can park at the Veterans Park which is free. Just let the attendant know you are visiting the Veterans Park. If you use this option please DO visit the Veterans Park and it's cache! If not please pay the $2.00 to visit the lake. $4 for out of Rockdale residents. It helps keep this area open.


Hours: Hours and days subject to change with the season. Please call for current times. The park is closed on Wednesdays.

Summer Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Winter Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

To determine the coordinates for the Black Shoals cache, you must watch the 3D flythrough of the Veterans War Memorial at Black Shoals Lake and answer the following questions:

(1) The number of letters of the second word in the second line of the directional sign as you enter the park.

(2) How many people are standing in the Vaughn Botanical Gardens?

(3) Leaving the parking area, how many cars are parked on the road in front of the Entrance Court?

(4) Entering the Entrance Court, count the number of black barrier poles in the circle.

(5) Roaming through the arch at the end of the Parade Ground Walk, how many seals are depicted?

(6) Find the Entrance Vestibule and count the number of pie shaped sections.

(7) When you enter the Entrance Vestibule, how many soldiers are depicted in the statue in the middle?

(8) Seek the inscription on the wall of the Entrance Vestibule and count the number of letters in the first word of the inscription.

(9) Exiting the Warfront exhibit, count the number of steel archways.

(10) Along the right wall of the Presentation Enclave, how many people are sitting?

(11) Entering the Presentation Enclave, how many plaques are in the fifth grouping of rectangular plaques on the wall?

(12) Kindly count the number of flag poles at the Presentation Enclave?

(13) On the left wall of the Presentation Enclave, how many people are sitting?

(14) On the Walk of Heroes, what is the second digit of the year etched into the concrete at the beginning?

(15) How many people are standing in the Vietnam Enclave?

AFTER YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS, take the first letter of each question and rearrange to form a phrase. Once rearranged, substitute the corresponding answer for each question to determine the coordinates.
