Welcome to the Girl Scout Cabin by the Lake in McKinley Park. I don't know all the history of this cabin, but if someone does, please send it to me so I can add it to this description.
I believe this was built by the Lions Club for the Girl Scouts many years ago, back when the Girl Scouts still did outside things. Our girls attended a couple of meetings here. It was originally just the log cabin with the fireplace, but additions were made on both sides. It's been used by various groups for various reasons after the Girl Scouts stopped using it. A few years back, the Cub Scouts used the cabin for awards nights and some summer activities, but then that stopped as well. The sign that stated this was the Girl Scout Cabin has been recently taken down. Hopefully that reason is for restoration. I was going to hide the cache by the sign, but had to come up with a different plan.
