This is one of a series of caches we have placed along a 1 and 2/3 mile stretch of the Trans Pennine Trail to compliment and fill gaps between existing caches. They can be accessed from a public car park at N53 17.917 W001 20.094. The car park is reached from the A6135 but be careful as it is easy to miss the entrance.
The Trans Pennine Trail is described on its website as follows ..
“The Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) is an exciting route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders linking the North and Irish seas, passing through the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals and through some of the most historic towns and cities in the North of England.
The Trail from coast-to-coast between Southport and Hornsea is 215 miles (346Km) long.
A north-south route connecting Leeds and Chesterfield, a spur to York and a spur to Kirkburton means there are approximately 370 miles (595 km) of Trans Pennine Trail available to explore.”
The surface is well maintained and is suitable for walkers and cyclists.
Our caches are placed close to the trail but I will leave it to you to decide what “close” means. The trail can be busy and you will need to be aware of other users for both safety considerations and muggle avoidance.
Please hide cashes as well or better than found. Some will require you to bring your own pen and maybe geo-tweezers.
