Geocache Description:

This is my “Postcards of Simpler Times” Series, my way of making the past become visual to all of us. You will not be given coordinates to anything but the nearest post office and have to determine where ground zero is from the old postcard below and the objects you must find in the present setting. The subject, present or not, must be located within a 2 mile radius of the posted coordinates.

Halifax College
To solve this puzzle cache you must determine the letter substitutions for in the following coordinates.

N 44 AB.CDE, W 63 FG.HJK

The postcard above is circa 1900. First you must figure out where the photographer was standing when this image was captured and go stand there.
From where you are standing you will find the cornerstone of a building within 30m, most likely north or west depending on where you deem the photographer was standing. The year that the building completed construction was ###J
Southwest from where you are standing there is a major intersection. On the southeast corner of that intersection there is a wooden statue with a number carved at the top, which is #C.
Crossing the intersection headed west there is a large red brick building. How many letters are in the last name of the man that laid the cornerstone of this building, which equals B?
Crossing the intersection headed north you will see a large sign in the middle of a garden. On the sign is the year that my Alma Mater was founded, which is ###E.
Walking west you will see a building on the north side of the street with a metal sculpture on the front steps. When was the school that this building serves founded as told by a plaque nearby, which equals ###F? (While this building is under construction the plaque is covered so F=3)
Continue walking west and you will see a white sculpture surrounded by bushes. This sculpture was first displayed at Expo #K.
Walking west to the end of the street you will find a tree that was planted by the class of 'D#.
To the north of the tree is a large circle with raised stones. One stone in particular is singled out as being how many hundreds of millions of years old, which equals G?
Walking west you will see a stone monument that tells of the way that my Alma Mater was initially funded. The date that the initial source of funding stopped was April H#th, 1815?
Look west from where you are now standing and you will see one of the iconic images at my Alma Mater. On the sandstone building in front of you, how many pairs of doors are their between the columns, which equals A?
From here you should be able to find ground zero easily, but remember you are downtown, signals bounce a lot. I hope you enjoy this cache and look for others in the series.
