This just may fall into the category of "Don't believe everything you read".
Many many years ago, when this land was first pioneered, this small cabin was built in a little meadow by a hard working settler. The land was cleared and a small farming operation began. The summer days were filled with the plowing and sewing and reaping of the harvest. Pa settler had little time for leisure after tending to the land and the many farm animals that he was raising. Ma settler kept herself busy too, cooking over the open hearth of this one room cabin that you're standing by and scrubbing Pa settlers soiled clothes in the nearby sixteen Mile Creek. After toiling through the harvest season and into the fall, finally the cold of the winter descended over Ma and Pa settler. It was during this time that they recognized that they had a break from labouring in their fields and took full advantage of having some time to themselves. Safe from the howling wolves outside their door, Ma and Pa settler stayed in the warmth of their comfortable cabin in the woods and found ways to entertain themselves, to while away the long winter nights. Nine months later..twins DougyB and thewhytes were born....right here at this little cabin.
